| History/Origin |
Named after Jane Mahoney, who came from an English diplomatic family. During her childhood she lived around the world, including stints in the USSR and the United States. She came to Australia and joined the Northern Territory Department of Law in 1991 where she worked as a solicitor in the Litigation Division. She specialised in personal injuries, medical negligence and child and family welfare. She lived in Mandorah and became heavily involved in the local community. She and her husband were tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident on the Cox Peninsula Road in 1998. |
