Named after Mr and Mrs Adcock who arrived at Port Darwin in the "Annie" with their 4 children in August 1873. Later, Herbert Henry Adcock, the brother of Mr. Adcock, had business interests in Darwin and Southport. He married Annie Pickford whose father owned a hotel in Darwin. Herbert Adcock died on 24 February 1908 aged 48 years. His wife Annie lived until well into her eighties. |
