History/Origin Named after Jas Aldridge, who was a Cadet Surveyor with Surveyor General Goyder when Darwin was being surveyed in 1869, and was assisting Mr R P Knuckey on the O T Line. He travelled extensively during the construction of the line and was notably connected with the establishment of the Alice Springs section of the O T Line.
