History/Origin Named in commemoration of Anne Pascoe Lansdowne (nee Dalkin) (1909 - 1973) - Landlord of the "Mine Host" Hotel at Knotts Crossing, Katherine from the mid-50s to 1973 and a keen participant in Red Cross and Country Women's Association all her life; and Frank Lansdowne (1907 - 1989) - worked with CSIRO to develop plant and animal breeds suitable for the Top End; co-owner of a brahman stud on Kumbidgee Station; member of Katherine Historical Society and well known Raconteur.
