| History/Origin |
Named after Ross Ibbotson Dalton Mallam who lived in Mitchell Street near the present News Building. He practised as a Lawyer in Darwin before being appointed Judge of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory in 1928. He was the first NT man to be so appointed; all others being appointed from South. He remained in office until 1st March 1933 when his appointment was terminated on the grounds of ill health.
