| History/Origin | Fisher Airstrip was named by the Surveyor General Arthur Miller, who stood in for the Administrator at the official opening of the airstrip on 30 November 1955. (Fisher, Joe "Trials and Triumphs in the Northern Territory and Northern Australia, 2002") The airstrip is named after Joe Fisher who was Manager of United Uranium No Limitied (UUNL) operation in North Australia. He was also reponsible for low level aerial surveys. |
