| History/Origin |
Named in commemoration of Bobby (Koolamurinee) Secretary (1929-1984) a Larrakia land rights leader, who was born in Darwin. He was involved in numerous land rights demonstrations and marches in Darwin in the early 1970s calling for land to be set aside for the Larrakia people. In 1979, a Special Purpose Lease was granted over Kulaluk, along the foreshore at Coconut Grove. (further details may be obtained from the Northern Territory Dictionary of Biography; Volume 2) |
