| History/Origin | This Alice Springs suburb takes its name from Heavitree Gap, the southern entrance to the town. Heavitree Gap was named by WW Mills in 1872, after a suburb of Exeter, Devon in England, during his exploration for a route through the MacDonnell Ranges for the Overland Telegraph Line. The suburb boundary, as approved on 8 March 2007, is deliniated on CP 5075. |
