History/Origin Named after Allan Ferguson Brumby who was born in Adelaide in 1904. He worked as a contractor on various Kidman properties until he purchased Ernabella Station in South Australia. During the 1930's he led several anthropological expeditions into the Mann and Musgrave Ranges for the University of South Australia. He later sold Ernabella and managed other South Australian properties before taking up the lease on the Finke Hotel Store in the 1950's. He finally settled in Alice Springs where he managed the RSL Club. He died in 1975.
