| History/Origin |
Named after a Mounted Constable in the NT. Originally a Detective in the SA Police, after 24 years of service Dempsey left to join the NT Force in January 1906, serving at Timber Creek and other Territory Stations. He was Gaoler at Darwin Gaol and Labour Prison from 1920 until 1928.
