| History/Origin |
Named after Commissioner of Police Dudley who was appointed in March1924 after Police Service in Africa, Canada and Ireland. He remained Commissioner and Chief Protector of Aborigines until December 1927. His position was then abolished following the split up of the NT, and he was subsequently employed with a geological expedition in 1928 and died prior to 1949. |
